It’s hard to believe that this week, 54 years ago, in the dead of winter, I returned home from my one-year tropical vacation in Vietnam. I was afforded the full tour package that included visiting the harrowing, hot, humid jungles, the swampy rice paddies, as well as the beautiful South China Sea coast. Uncle Sam made sure that the tour was an adventure-filled, up-close, and personal experience. It included more emotions, fireworks, thrills, and fears than I could have ever imagined. Even though it was an unforgettable trip (trust me, I’ve tried to forget it), I gotta tell you, I don’t miss it one bit!!
