Robert Kuhn, born in southwestern Pennsylvania, grew up in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh, PA where he still resides today. After working the full-time grind in the electronics service industry for forty years, he now enjoys practicing the art of writing in his retirement years. He is a family man who has been married for more than fifty years to his beautiful bride. She tolerates him fairly well. They have three loving daughters and six wonderful grandchildren. Much of his writing focuses on family relationships and friendships.

.

Robert began his writing journey in 2011. It took ten years, but finally, in 2021 he published his first book, Rucksack Grunt, a personal memoir about his U.S. Army and Vietnam War service. The book has been highly regarded by Veterans and their families and praised for being an open and honest portrayal of the traumatic challenges that many veterans faced during and after that extremely difficult and unpopular war. Kuhn was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, along with the Army Commendation, and Bronze Star Medals for meritorious service in Vietnam.

In his first fiction book Jean’s Heroic Journey (Book series #1), published in 2024, Robert writes endearingly about his sister Jean and her best friend Beatrice. Much is written about their 1950s childhood family experiences as well as their challenging adversity-filled life journeys through the far out groovy 1960s and 1970s. This is an entertaining emotional account based on Jean’s incredible and inspirational real-life story. We consider it Robert’s “magnum opus,” a must-read!

His next work, Beatrice B. Goode (Book series #2), is all about the popular fictional character Beatrice who was introduced in Jean’s Heroic Journey. Beatrice is a brash, but unforgettable and well-loved wannabe hippie. However, as an impetuous hardworking diner waitress she never quite fits the carefree flower child role.  Somehow, as unlikely as it would seem, she becomes a very successful entrepreneur, despite herself. She will make you laugh!
